How To Apply

Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence invites trainers to apply to be listed on our online Out-of-School Time Trainer Network. The Trainer Network will provide Arizona out-of-school time professionals with a list of high-quality professional development facilitators covering a variety of relevant topics and serving various regions throughout the state. To become an approved Trainer, you must:

• Complete the online application
• Provide at least two references who can attest to your experience as a trainer
• Be well versed in School’s Out, Make It Count: Arizona Quality Standards for Out-of-School Time Programs

What we’re looking for in a Trainer:

• Effectively communicates the specific content that a training is to focus on
• Understands alternative methods to use when training staff with different experiential and professional backgrounds

What we’re looking for in a Training:

• Reflects a combination of youth development & education approaches to working with youth
• Allows for a range of learning styles
• Integrates theory and practice
• Involves staff in identifying their own needs
• Is inclusive of all staff levels, while appropriate for each staff level
• Is inclusive of cultures and build on community
• Offers opportunities for participants to interact and learn from one another
• Honors life experiences of participants
