The Art and Science of Motivating Staff
Leading and managing people is HARD and there are days when we are left scratching our heads about how to maintain productivity, engagement, and results when people are distracted, grumpy, noncompliant, or ineffective. We know how frustrating it can be, and invite you to join us to learn how to create conditions for motivation on your team, in your organization, and in the nonprofit sector at large. We can’t realize our important missions without engaged, productive, inspired, and helpful employees who not only do their jobs but who are also driven to do their jobs well (yes, even in “unprecedented” times!). We’ll help you get there!
Key objectives:
* Participants will learn the science behind human motivation
* Participants will learn how to create conditions for motivation on their teams
* Participants will understand the root causes of demotivation, and learn ways to counteract it
* Participants will learn how to equitably assess for motivation during the hiring process
Target Audience:

Programs that serve Grades K-4
Ideal Group size(s):

Burnout, Boundaries & Community Care for Changemakers
Feeling burnt out? Struggling with boundaries? Yearning for support and community? In this interactive session, we will reveal the root causes of burnout in the nonprofit sector, learn how to heal from and prevent burnout for ourselves and our teams, experiment with “radical” boundary setting, and introduce the paradigm of “reloveutionary community care” as a way to sustainably and compassionately support human beings who are changing the world. This space is a place for you to come as you are and practice emotional honesty, and we will leverage knowledge sharing, personal reflection, community discussion, and group activities to ensure you walk away with exactly what you need.
Core Objectives:
• Participants will learn the science of burnout and how it manifests in OST
• Participants will learn how to set meaningful boundaries that support their own wellbeing and create conditions for wellbeing on the team
• Participants will learn strategies for caring for themselves and how to build systems of community care that take the onus of healing off the person who is suffering
• Participants will build solidarity and have a safe space for storytelling and sharing (healing practices unto themselves)
