“Grow Your Village – Building & Retaining Community Partnerships”

Get ready to grow your village with strong, sustainable partnerships to support your out-of-school time programs. School Connect’s Tracey Beal and Jill Hicks show you how to identify partnership resources your village already has through asset mapping. You will explore how partnerships fit in the bigger picture and gain the tools to build dynamic long-term partnerships among business, faith, government and non-profit organizations. Discover why win/win partnerships are only successful if both partners contribute. You will also get to experience a School Connect CAFÉ (Community And Family Engagement event) training to learn how to host your own and get community partners engaged in out-of-school time programs ensuring sustainability to the benefit of all involved.

The Road to Recovery: Trauma-Informed Care in the Aftermath of a Traumatic School Event”
Standard I, V, VI     Program Applicability K-12 

As traumatic events are on the rise in schools across the country how does the community bounce back after difficult times. What ways can trauma-informed care be provided to the survivors? In this workshop you will explore various methods used to facilitate care in the aftermath of a tragic event, discover resources that out-of-school time professionals use to help the survivors in the aftermath.
