National Day of Action & Afterschool for All Challenge

There was a large turnout for the National Day of Action to support afterschool, but we still have a fight ahead of us.

Participating in the Afterschool for All Challenge, teams from forty-five states and Washington, D.C. attended 200 meetings all across Capitol Hill. This included our very own Afterschool Ambassador who was able to meet with local representatives about how critical afterschool is to Arizona! 24,923 youth in our state rely on federally-funded programs that have zero funding in next year’s budget.

While Arizona Afterschool Ambassador Jeremy King met with staff from Rep. Sinema, Sen. Flake and Sen. McCain’s offices to share the message that #afterschoolworks for Arizona, afterschool supporters from across the country made 761 phone calls and sent 3,286 emails to their representatives in Congress.
